Report:
Israel, Hamas agree on ceasefire

Israel and Hamas on Wednesday evening reportedly negotiated a ceasefire, effective midnight, to end the most recent rocket barrage from the Gaza Strip, in which over 80 rockets were fired.
The Israeli government made no official confirmation of the report.
The truce, believed to have been negotiated by Egyptian intelligence officer Maj. Gen. Nader al-Aasr, would see the IDF halt its retaliatory strikes into the Gaza Strip if Hamas stops rockets from being fired into Israel, Israel Radio reported.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised residents of southern Israel that he would fortify every building in communities 4.5 to 7 kilometers (2.7 to 4.3 miles) from the Strip, in which, until now, only educational facilities had been protected.
The plan is expected to include the installation of 1,629 reinforced "secure rooms" in homes within rocket range at a cost of NIS 250 million, and the fortification of schools between 7 and 15 kilometers distant from the Gaza Strip by the end of 2013.

The Palestinian bid to gain nonmember status at the United Nations does not obviate the necessity for peace talks with Israel, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday.
“We’re ready to go back to negotiations straightaway. Going to the UN is not a substitute for negotiations. We are in need of negotiations to solve the final status of issues that face us both,” Abbas told reporters during a visit of Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev’s to the West Bank city of Ramallah.
“We have resolved to go to the UN to save the two-state solution and to achieve the rights of our people as an observer state,” Reuters quoted Abbas saying.

The US and Israel simulated rocket attacks during their largest-ever joint military drill Wednesday, while real missiles fired from Gaza exploded in southern Israel. US military officials noted that the joint exercise, called Austere Challenge 12, was planned long before the latest flare-up.
About 1,000 US troops are in Israel alongside a similar number of Israeli troops. An additional 2,500 US troops, based in Europe and the Mediterranean, are also participating in the drill. The armies are practicing their ability to work together to thwart a variety of threats that face Israel. The exercise will continue for about three weeks.

Conflict fears as Gaza clashes intensify
There are ominous signs that worsening clashes between Israel and the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip could touch off a new conflict as the Middle East is wracked with upheaval, a civil war in Syria and the threat of a U.S.-Iranian shootout in the Persian Gulf. This eruption of violence appears to be isolated but it's not. It's part of a very intricate gavotte between Israel and its Palestinian foes.
Chinese ships enter disputed Senkaku waters
Japan's Coast Guard said the four Chinese surveillance ships were spotted within a 12-nautical mile zone that Tokyo considers its territorial waters near one of the disputed islands in the East China Sea early Thursday morning. The ships refused to leave, saying the area was Chinese territory, according to Atsushi Takahashi, a spokesman for the Coast Guard's headquarters in Okinawa, which has jurisdiction over the islands.
Arizona to vote on taking control of Grand Canyon
Arizonans will vote next month on a ballot proposal to give the state control over the Grand Canyon – the latest move in the so-called “sagebrush revolt” in which western states are trying to reclaim federal land. The issue was put on the ballot after the proposal passed the Republican-controlled legislature. It would amend the state constitution to give Arizona sovereignty and jurisdiction over not just the Grand Canyon but all the "air, water, public lands, minerals, wildlife and other natural resources” within its boundaries.
U.S. extends $4 billion loan guarantees to Israel
The United States extended its $4 billion loan guarantees to Israel by another four years on Wednesday. U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner and Doron Cohen, the director general of Israel's Finance Ministry, signed an agreement extending the loan program until 2016.
Three-person IVF trial 'success'
US scientists say a human and animal trial of a controversial new IVF treatment has yielded promising results. The findings in Nature magazine show healthy-looking embryos can be created from a mix of three adult donors. Human embryos were grown in the lab and some appeared normal, while monkeys born using the same technique remained fit and well, now aged three.

Texas AG Tells Int’l Election Monitors to Butt Out, Prompting Complaint
The head of an international body that will monitor the U.S. elections next month protested to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday after Texas’ attorney-general warned that any international observer who approaches a polling station in the state risks criminal prosecution.
Gazans fire mortar shell despite informal truce
Despite a Gazan mortar shell exploding in an open field near the Eshkol Regional Council Area on Thursday morning, a tense quiet prevailed in the South as an informal cease-fire brokered by Egypt appeared to be holding. The cease-fire followed two days of intense violence which saw some eighty rockets and mortar shells fired from the Gaza Strip into the western Negev.

U.N.: Truce pact reached amid questions
A tentative cease-fire pact between Syria and rebel fighters was announced Wednesday by envoy Lakhdar Brahimi amid questions about how it would be enforced. Brahimi wants the temporary truce to be in place during the Islamic Id al-Adha feast that begins Friday, The New York Times reported. The envoy, who represents both the United Nations and Arab League, said in Cairo Syria was preparing to announce the cease-fire and most rebel factions he had contacted said they would respect it as well.
Air strike on Sudan arms plant heightens Israel-Iran tensions
Warplanes bombed a Sudanese munitions factory Wednesday in Khartoum, setting off massive explosions and sending plumes of smoke roiling into the night sky. Sudan immediately blamed Israel, which was coy about whether it had launched the attack. “There is nothing,” Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak said, “I can say about this subject.”
Hybrid of Sandy, Winter Storm Threatens East Coast!
Much of the U.S. East Coast has a good chance of getting blasted by gale-force winds, flooding, heavy rain and maybe even snow early next week by an unusual hybrid of hurricane and winter storm, federal and private forecasters say. Though still projecting several days ahead of Halloween week, the computer models are spooking meteorologists. Government scientists said Wednesday the storm has a 70 percent chance of smacking the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.

LAKE FOREST, CALIF. – BRITISH-BORN ENTREPRENEUR MARK BURNETT, WHO IS THE CREATOR OF SUCH REALITY TV SHOWS AS CELEBRITY APPRENTICE, SHARK TANK, SURVIVOR AND THE VOICE, SAID ONE OF HIS FEARS IS THAT OF NOT MAKING A "MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTION" IN LIFE. BURNETT WAS INTERVIEWED BY BEST-SELLING AUTHOR AND PASTOR RICK WARREN FOR A TAPED SEGMENT SHOWN DURING A BUSINESS SUMMIT AT SADDLEBACK CHURCH IN LAKE FOREST, CALIF., ON FRIDAY.
"I have had great fear, but my fear isn't of the failure of the project. It's looking back later having done nothing. It's a very serious fear. The fear of not making a meaningful contribution, of being insignificant, of looking back [and thinking] that I didn't step up. I am honestly petrified of that, or I was, and my pain of feeling like I let myself down, my family down, and not taking the risk to do it was far greater than the pleasure of being calm," said Burnett.
The reality television pioneer was one of five speakers featured at the O.C. (Orange County) Business Summit, spearheaded by Warren. The Saddleback Church founder said he felt that one way to tackle a struggling economy was to bring together the brightest minds in business to discuss how they achieved success. More than 2,000 people attended the day-long conference which included sessions led by Steve Case, who is the former CEO of America Online and presently chairman of the Case Foundation; Lynda Resnick, listed #634 on Forbes Billionaires list and #212 on Forbes 400; Michael E. Gerber, who is well known as a business guru and author of The E-Myth Revisited; and Warren.
In his discussion about fear, Burnett also talked about the making of "The Bible," a 10-hour miniseries, filmed in Morocco with his wife, Roma Downy, as co-producer and playing the part of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The series is scheduled to premiere on the History Channel early next year.
"In doing the Bible project with Roma, if I would have over-analyzed it and took too much advice I would have never started. It's too enormous, too scary, but actually my fear was of looking back and feeling like a loser that I was called to do this and I didn't do it and I have massive regrets and I'm not going to have that happen," Burnett told Warren. "I don't know for a fact that the Bible project will be as big as I hope it is, but I know I did it well and that's what matters."
When asked to talk about his creative process, Burnett first talked about the opportunities that are unique to the United States.

"America is a country, which obviously from my accent I wasn't born here but moving here, it is the land of opportunity and what that means is that this country will allow you to have an idea, take a risk, make mistakes, and try again. This country celebrates ideas and action. I know that what I've succeeded to do in television here would have unlikely been done in Europe where I came from," he said.
Once someone has an idea they should rely on their instinct that it is a workable idea and not ridiculous, because "the first thing that usually happens is a hundred people will tell you how stupid you are," Burnett explained.
"When I set out to do Survivor the amount of people who said to me, 'You know why that's not going to work? If it was so good somebody would have already done it.' I thought that's crazy. Everything has to start somewhere," he said.
"Survivor did sound like a little crazy idea that I'm going to find an island, take 16 Americans that have never met before, get them to build a society, and play this game on television. But I just kind of knew. I knew there was something extraordinary about the idea about people who have never met. Have you ever sat on an airplane and wondered if this thing goes down where do I fit into this society? Am I the leader or the follower? Am I brave, am I weak? I always wondered this things and that is the embodiment of Survivor."

"FEATURED WEEKLY STUDY"
Do you have a love problem? Let me ask you a question.
How many of us would say that our love for God is our #1 consuming passion in life? More than our love for our family, job, sports, or anything else on earth?
OK. Let me flip the question around. How many of you would say that your #1 consuming passion in life is to know and experience how much Christ loves you? Not how much you love Him but how much He loves you? It goes against the way many of us think about the Christian life, doesn't it? And yet Christ's love comes first and receiving from Him has to come first. That is why the apostle Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus.
The apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians to know and experience the love of God for them. This is his prayer from Ephesians 3:17-19, "(I Pray) That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in (His) love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Notice, Paul doesn't pray that the church will love Christ more but he prays that the church would know that Christ loves them more. He prays to God that they would understand more of Christ's inexhaustible love for them (multiply the height by the depth by the length by the width). The apostle Paul actually calculates God's love for us and it is infinite and endless. Paul then prays for them to be filled with ALL the fullness of God, which is the fullness of His love! GOD IS LOVE! How deep is that love? How full is all the fullness of God? Can you measure that love? How high can "exceedingly abundantly above" love be? The apostle is passionate in his prayer because he knows that it is the key to all of the Christian life. God's very nature is love; as all of His love is poured out upon us, we simply respond in kind.
I like what one author says about Paul's use of the word love: "In the Greek language a unique word is used to express the love of God. It is the word 'Agape. It denotes a love that is far above that which we experience in our natural relationships with one another. It is a completely free, unconditional, unmerited, sacrificial, giving love."
God's biblical definition of His love for us is nothing like our love for Him or other people for that matter. Our human love is fractured, limited, and very conditional. The beautiful thing about the Bible is that it defines in a concrete way what God's love is toward the bride of Christ. Without Scripture we would bring God's love down to our limited human level and since we are prone to do that anyway, we have to tenaciously guard against that through abiding in His Word. His definition of love has to trump our constant, sinful, emotional desire to redefine love. We already know that we are unlovable and we know that we don't deserve any love or mercy from God, He has a lot to overcome. We have to let God convince us daily of His love for us! God will only change you and I through love. When we abide in His Word, we abide in His love.
Chuck Smith: The love of God goes beyond anything we know on the human plane. You've never experienced such a love. It's a constant love, a strong love, and a pure love. A love that overcomes your weaknesses and failures and seeks only your good and your best. Many times you'll discover God's love the most when you have been at your worst, it is then that you realize how much He loves you.
Do you have a love problem today? Not in how much you try to love Jesus but in knowing His love for you? The Lord wants you to experience His unfailing, unearthly, merciful love right now and I hope that you will. You and I don't deserve His love and we cannot earn His love. Just ask Him now to overcome your doubt and receive all the fullness of God.

WEEKLY WORD
VOTING ABC’S
Who cares who you vote for?
I don’t.
I don’t care if you vote for the latest bad guy or good guy.
I really don’t care what you think about each or any person you vote or don’t vote for.
I CARE HOW YOU VOTE
This is how you “Should vote”
IF God has told you already that you should vote.
VOTE as Jesus tells you to.
ASK HIM then do as HE LEADS YOU.
FOLLOW THIS SIMPLE PLAN
1) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
2) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
3) Not MY will but THY WILL be done.
Let God decide for you as you follow Him.
If you DO as HE tells you to do
YOU HAVE NO CONSCIENCE to invoke or Provoke
You simply Obey as He told you to
The results are up to Him
BUT
If you vote without asking Him
Based on your “idea” of what you think from politicking, issues and appearances
YOU ARE IN REBELLION TO GOD
How?
Read Number 2 above.
That is not a Suggestion, it is a commandment
IF YOU VOTE
DO AS GOD TOLD YOU
(Weekly)
The Soul of America
In a Nation that used to Pride itself of "Neighborly Love" "United We Stand" and "We the People" I fear for the Soul of a Country that begins motto's with "It's My Right to Carry a Gun" "Everyone in Government is Evil" and "Chooses to Voice what is Wrong with the World" than what is right.
Not the Land I was raised in.
People say the soul of a nation is established in the way we treat our elderly, our poor, our needy and our children. If that's true as odd as it seems according to the news, we are doing a pretty good job. I know a lot of people will disagree, but for the most part, IN AMERICA we do good with that.
We Care.
And that is the Soul of America.
We Care.
We don't always agree on HOW TO care but given an incredible need or a heartfelt tug and because we care, We Help.
As long as there is a Helping Hand coming from America we have not lost our soul, but merely let others with louder voices shout over the actions we do.
YOUR ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Don't panic over Bad News or Trash Talk on the Radio
As Long as We care.
As Long as We help those in need.
As Long as we share what we do have.
The Soul of Every American is in the right place.
